History
Cymetech began operation in 1996 as a business of the B.F. Goodrich Co., when it began
production of purified DCPD monomer for B.F. Goodrich's Poly-DCPD business.
In March 2000, B.F. Goodrich and a private company established a joint venture for the
ultra-high purity Dicyclopentadiene and Poly-DCPD businesses. In March 2002, Noveon
(previously the chemical division of B.F. Goodrich) divested its interest in the joint venture
company, and Cymetech began operating as an independent, privately owned company. In
September 2004, Cymetech divested its interest in the Poly-DCPD business to Materia, Inc.
In 2008, Cymetech was acquired by the Sojitz Group. Sojitz Corporation is headquartered in
Tokyo, Japan and has 82 offices, 431 subsidiaries, and 17,000 employees around the world.
