Structural

ULTRENE™ 99 DCPD can be formulated to produce polyDCPD structural materials with an impressive strength-to-weight ratio, which is ideal for applications in the energy, transportation, ACE, and automotive industries. PolyDCPD does not need to be fiber reinforced so it provides very lightweight materials. It may also be fiber-reinforced to yield even greater strength properties. PolyDCPD structural materials are very durable and very abrasion resistant. Because of its very low viscosity and high reactivity, ULTRENE™ DCPD can be rapidly processed by RIM and other processing methods.

Electrical

ULTRENE™ DCPD may be used for the production of high-quality electrical and electronic components due to its outstanding insulation properties. Due to its non-polar, hydrophobic nature, ULTRENE™ DCPD can significantly decrease the dielectric constant and dissipation factor of materials used in the electronics and electrical industries for applications such as encapsulants, laminates, coatings, and adhesives.

Chemical Intermediates

Cymetech provides building block chemicals for use in the production of other specialty chemical products and polymers. ULTRENE™ 97 DCPD is used as an intermediate and monomer to produce specialty hydrophobic polymers, lubricant additives, fragrances, specialty synthetic rubbers, and more. ULTRENE™ 94 MCPDD is used to produce specialty anhydrides and fuel additives.

Composites

ULTRENE™ 99 DCPD is used as a matrix resin with fiber reinforcement for even greater strength properties where reliability and performance are critical. PolyDCPD pieces are lightweight, very durable, abrasion-resistant, and chemical resistant. PolyDCPD composites can be used in a wide variety of applications. ULTRENE™ 94 MCPDD can be used to produce nadic methyl anhydride (NMA), which is a high-performance curing agent for epoxy resins.
